i know its been ages since i posted last. Thing have been Super busy and there has been a lot of neaw work but no time to photograph any of it !!!!

Firstly, i had another exhibition in November !! I was one of the many stall owners at Utsav 2009 and it was a great privilage to be among such veterain designers. This was not an art exhibiton like the last show i had in 2008. I showcased my work in both Kottyam and Cochin, mostly stoles, cushion covers, napkin box covers, shawls etc. It was brilliant !!

I recently got an order to make a 200 cm by 200 cm shibori piece for a dubay cover. it was the first time i was working with so much cloth and it nearly drove me insane ! The colour, size, design ..everything was a challenge at that size. But the outcome at the end of it all was not too bad so there might be hope for shibori sarees and bed spreads in the future yet !

hey everyone, for those of you who dont know, i just came back from the most brilliant trip to the foot hills of the Himalayas !!! i wish i could post some snaps here but i promised myself this would be a work blog so, lets see… might bend the rules this once :)

otherwise ive been busy with orders as usual, most of the work im doing look similar to the work i have already posted so to avoid repeats im not going to put up snaps of those. although yesterday i did make two stoles which i really really liked, so even though the snaps were taken in a rush, here they are !

Miriam, my most brilliant model has returned to the UK, so heres our friendly driftwood piece again. Anyone willing to model my stoles for me? anyone?

Finally here are few of the stoles we made during naf ’s visit home!! As you can see we pretty much tried a range of techniques, tried a few new, explored a few old, it was a fun experiance, im certainly doing things a bit differently. i love it when people come and ideas are churned about :) all the stoles are made form pure silk, about 2 meters in length.

I got another order for a variation of the piece ‘ Autumn’ . although my mother seems to think this one came out really well im beginning to think the magic of the idea is fading a bit. doing so many variations of one piece makes it difficult to have an opinion about my work. but one does need to make a living and people can only place orders by seeing my previous work.

All the same,I really cant wait to start doing some batik. :)

hi again, so i did one more piece for a client, an Indian village scene. this one took quite a bit out of me, my hands are itching to do some batik but even so i think it came out pretty well.

its a huge piece, in a way its a good thing im making bigger pieces, now i just need to figure out what kind of pieces make people go ” i want that piece!” hee hee. so far ive got 4 pieces sitting at home doing sweet nothings. all in good time :)

I got an order to make a variation of the small piece ‘village market’ that i’ve shown earlier in my blog. the main conditions being that the people in it shouldn’t be typically Indian and that it should be big !! So im proud to say that after 10 days of Christmas madness and weddings galore, i finally finished it !!!!!! ( clap clap clap)
