SunsetSunset

Well, this pieces is easily A1…. maybe bigger, and i though id experiment with the colours, Its a pretty wild, bold piece and as you can see the back ground is a single piece of cloth dyed blood red. The birds are higly detailed and each wing has three different pieces. it has come to my attention that this may not be totally visible sooo next time ill try working bigger :)

With the trees i just went wild, its basically thread and som waste bits the dyed red cloth.
i love the effect of the rock in the red water, the pattern that the arashi has given is so perfect for depicting water.
As always would love to know what you think so please please let me know :)

I ve been planning to put up pictures of my cushions for donkeys years, and now finally i have ! :) So…. for those of you who don’t know, these are some of the many many cushions i made during the beginning of the year for a client of mine and a few of them are ones i made little later on , based on orders. so if there are any you like please do let me know. im planning to start an account on line where i can sell my stuff, its all in the planning but unlike before i am now closer than ever to actually doing it :)

a yummy scrummy chocolate elephant !!!!

a yummy scrummy chocolate elephant !!!!

When i saw this little guy in the box with all the other little guys neatly sitting, waiting to be eaten my heart just skipped a beat. A chocolate elephant!!! how simply adorable is that . and look at him, so perfectly and intricately made. ( yes i know they probably used a mold)
So anyway, this little guy stomped his way into my work blog for his sheer awesomeness. cos chocolate elephants such as him are really hard to come by.

Here the most recent one.. im proud to say it s bigger than an A4, so yay !!!!  i personally like this one, i thin it have more input from me as an artist, plus it has more perspective than the first two landscapes….

Fish Underwater
Fish Underwater

This little piece i made today, wanted to do something other than landscapes and although i toyed with the idea of doing something really wild i though id take the safer route and do fish :).

I just realized some of you may not know what Shibori is exactly.

Both Shibori and tie dye are a type of resist, which use various methods of shaping, securing, stitching, folding, clamping and tying cloth before dyeing to create designs. The designs created by these processes have characteristically soft edges around the resisted areas.

I ve been wanting to experiment with Shibori and patchwork for some time now and today i finally got about to doing it. the plan was to do something wild and big, it ended up being a little smaller than an A3, and just a regular landscape, but i think with time i should get better.

Its a lot of fun to do, although very time consuming… but i guess as the subjects get more interesting it ll be more fun matching the different gradients and textures.right now im working in monotone, but eventually i may experiment with more than one colour…. all in due time :)

Another little something amma( my mother) is working on, it basically a small mirror with a really detailed dry flower arrangement done on top.

I absolutely love this snap, the work is so delicate and you can almost smell it through your computer screen. So, as with the spice rings, if you want to get in touch with her, or if you like what you see and would like to own one of your own, please do let me know, i will pass on the message :)

This is something my mother is working on. SInce shes to lazy to start a blog on her own, im going to take this time to showcase a little bit here, hope you dont mind, and as always, orders are always welcome .

Last month appa (my father) gave me a piece of extra carpeting from his office and i figured id bag a bag out of it, plus there was a wedding coming up and im a wee bit fed up of my coconut bag. So i made this! My very own fishy bag !! complete with most of the embroidery i know, shells, bells, and a zip from an old pair of jeans. Frankly speaking im quite proud of myself, i like the look and it an hold my phone, some money and my kaajal with room to spare.

This is the other side of the same bag. felt like changing the pattern, although i think i like the front side better.
